AIA Organizing Unprecedented Trade Mission to India

Arlington:Representatives of about 20 Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) member companies are heading to India in December to explore trade opportunities in the fast-growing aerospace and defense market there.
The trade mission, planned by AIA's Supplier Management Council and Tri Polus, a London-based international trade consulting firm, is scheduled to visit Delhi and Bangalore over six days starting Dec. 2. The Confederation of Indian Industry will be the local partner in India for the trip. It is the first time the AIA has organized a formal trade mission and reflects changes in the U.S.-India strategic relationship that have opened the market to aerospace and defense products.
Participants are slated to meet with Indian commerce and defense officials as well as key domestic aerospace companies. The objective is to familiarize U.S. companies with Indian procurement procedures, offset policies, and other factors affecting trade.
