Doha: The Indian Airlines flight scheduled to leave for Kozhikode in Kerala at 1.40am on Thursday was delayed, leaving some 97 passengers stranded in Doha for about 17 hours.
The delay was caused by a major technical snag hit just before the boarding of passengers , an airline official told The Peninsula later yesterday.
Several affected passengers complained that they were not duly informed about the delay and were kept waiting in the airport for several hours with no airline official showing up to assist them.
The Doha- Kozhikode-Kochi flight finally left Doha at around 9.30pm yesterday, after the necessary maintenance was carried out.
The flight also had several passengers boarded from Bahrain, who were off-loaded after the technical snag was detected, the official said.
