SriLankan gets inflight entertainment award

Dubai: SriLankan Airlines has once again been adjudged to have some of the finest inflight entertainment systems in the world, being selected second runner-up in Best Overall Inflight Entertainment, the prize honour at the World Airline Entertainment Association’s annual Avion Awards.
SriLankan has now won seven Avion Awards in the last six years, including Best Overall Inflight Entertainment in 2003 and 2004.
This category is a composite score of all the individual categories in print, video, and audio. The Best Overall Inflight Entertainment had two groups, with SriLankan in the Small Fleet (24 or fewer aircraft) class.
Entertainment was judged on originality, suitability, production value, content, and balance.
The panel of judges included leading media executives, critics, producers, editors, and academics from Australia, Brazil, India, Italy, Singapore, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the US. The awards were held in Miami Beach, Florida.
