Weather, both in feel and in statistics, turned normal as winter finally found its fangs. Early mornings and late nights are now foggy and late morning and early evenings are hazy. Temperatures have retracted from the higher sides of the thermometer. There is moisture in air and cold winds are driving in towards UP, said Director, MET Department (Amausi Airport) KP Kulsreshtha.
“The anti-cyclonic circulations that had been preventing temperature to fall have waned completely. A cyclonic circulation brings outside air inside, while an anti-cyclonic circulation pushes inside wind outside there by it prevents outside air coming inside. So, cold winds were not being able to come in due to the anti-cyclonic circulation,” he said.
As the anti-cyclonic circulation waned some rain appeared recently and brought moisture into the air. Fog has become persistent and the weatherman forecasts that fog may start getting even thicker in next few days. “This year’s winter is turning better than last year’s when there was no fog, now we have started having fog. Conditions are normal at present,” he said.
