Dense fog at Kolkata airport, flights diverted

Kolkata: At least seven planes were today diverted from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose international airport here due to dense fog.
Airport sources said the conditions were improving after 10 a.m, but clearance was still awaited from the meteorological department.
An Air-India plane from Jeddah carrying Haj pilgrims was among the flights which were diverted. It was directed to Nagpur, the sources said.
Three planes were directed to Guwahati, two planes to Bhubaneswar and one plane returned to Paro in Bhautan, sources said.
Three flights had taken off from the airport between 5 a.m and 6 a.m, sources said.
