Malaysian carrier offers 40 percent fare cut

Discounts of 40 percent and above will be offered on many routes out of Vietnam during Malaysia Airlines Travel Fair 2007, an airline official said recently.
Area manager of the Malaysian carrier in Vietnam, Terence Swampillai, said to avail the cheap fares passengers would have to book between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6 and fly between Feb 24 and sept 30.
For instance, a round ticket would cost US$138 on the HCMC-Kuala Lumpur route compared to the normal $263, and $458 on the HCMC- Perth route against $651.
The carrier’s website said there would be discounts on flights to the US, Europe, Middle East, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Indian sub-continent, and ASEAN countries.
