Visa-on-arrival at Indian airports soon

New Delhi: In a bid to ease visa norms, the government is likely to introduce visa-on-arrival facility at Indian airports soon.
Tourism minister Ambika Soni said the facility would be made available as soon as infrastructure at major airports like Delhi and Mumbai had been upgraded.
"In my interaction with the ministries of home affairs and civil aviation, I was told that there was not enough infrastructure at major airports for visa-on-arrival. But once these are in place, then visa on arrival facility can be considered," the minister said.
Soni added that her ministry had approached the finance ministry for tax incentives and was hoping to get some relief.
Soni was speaking at the National Tourism Awards function held recently.
