Long way for international terminal at Amausi

Lucknow: The fate of Amausi airport seems to be in a fix for the moment with no progress in building of the proposed international terminal.
Meanwhile, the government has demanded more money from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for evicting people from the nearby Garaura village.
AAI has reportedly already paid a hefty sum for the purpose but no progress has been taken so far.
According to the high-flying plans envisaged for the airport, an international terminal is to be built to cater to the growing number of international flights and passengers.
"A team of experts from our Delhi office had visited Amausi about five months ago in connection with the expansion plans," informed Ravi Prakash, director, Amausi airport.
He said that all projects requiring high-capital investment were planned by Delhi, which was the headquarters of the northern region as well as the national headquarters of AAI.
Sources say that the plan is in its formation stage and may take sometime.
