Air Deccan silence delays holy wedlock

Kolkata: His marriage was deferred at least by a day because of the reported communication gap between the travel agent and the staff of Air Deccan.
Mr Dipten Chatterjee was scheduled to go to Agartala from Kolkata by a Air Deccan flight today, but could not because the number of boarding passes issued to passengers was more than the number of seats in the aircraft.
The staff of the airline at NSC Bose airport issued 187 boarding passes to passengers while the capacity of the aircraft to fly from Kolkata to Agartala was 180. During the physical verification, the additional number of passengers was detected on board and airline’s officials requested seven people to get down. Seven passengers, including the groom Mr Chatterjee, his father and five others accompanying them alighted. The flight left for Agartala about 2.30 p.m. instead of 12.50 p.m. as scheduled.
Mr Chatterjee was on his way to Agartala to solemnise his marriage and complete the registration formalities. Six others were accompanying him. Mr Dipten Chatterjee, however, was later sent to Agartala by a flight of Indian but because others including his father could not go today the formalities will have to be completed tomorrow.
An official of Air Deccan however, claimed that the tickets were booked through a travel agent who had cancelled all the tickets on 10 February. But due to a communication gap, it was not properly intimated.
