Panaji: The Chief Minister, Mr Pratapsingh Rane today announced that the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh has issued an order directing the naval authorities to hand about eight acres of land at the Dabolim airport to the state government for development of the airport. Mr Rane made the announcement by interrupting the Mandrem BJP MLA, Mr Laxmikant Parsekar, who was speaking on the vote of accounts to criticise Mr Rane's budget announced yesterday and also the performance of the Congress government in Goa. Mr Rane said that while the navy will hand over the land at Dabolim, in compensation, the navy will be given land at Bombay by the Airport Authorities of India. At another point, Mr Rane also assured Mr Parsekar that the proposed Mopa airport at Pernem would also become a reality.
