Notwithstanding the two emergency landings in a day that created a flutter at the Delhi airport, Air India maintains that it has a clean track record. An AI spokesperson said as many as a dozen incidents related to landing gear malfunction have been reported all over the world by various airlines in the past 18 months and there was nothing wrong about the national carrier’s maintenance.
“We spend nearly Rs 800 crore on engineering and maintenance,” he added.
