New Delhi: The government has allowed the Alpha Airports Group to convert its holding company in India into an operating-cum-holding entity. This paves the way for Alpha to set up duty-free shops, flight kitchens and food & beverages outlets at various airports across India.
The permission, granted by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) recently, will enable Alpha Group to set up duty-free shops at the Delhi airport in collaboration with Kishore Biyani-owned Future Group. Delhi International Airport (DIAL), the consortium modernising Delhi airport, had awarded the contract to the Alpha-Future consortium for Rs 500 crore and the joint venture has opened its first outlet following FIPB’s green signal.
