Bangalore: About 20 passengers of low cost carrier Air Deccan went on a rampage and broke glasses of the counter belonging to the airliner in the city airport today, after they were denied boarding passes.
Airport officials said the incident occurred when the officials of the airliner denied them boarding passes as they had arrived late at the airport.
Boarding was closed at 0505 hrs for the Mumbai flight, scheduled to depart at 0530 hrs. But the passengers, who had come at 0515 hrs, demanded that they be allowed to embark the flight. As the officials did not allow them, the enraged passengers broke glasses of the Air Deccan office inside the airport.
However, further trouble was averted as the officials promised them that they would be accommodated in the next flight.
