Colombo: Sri Lankan Airlines in addition to their airlines and travel work has made it an integral part to promote Sri Lankan tourism and specially is in search of new vistas in the regional tourism promotion via sports.
Mr Chandana De Silva, Head, Corporate Communication, SriLankan Airlines has participated the Ambassadors’ Golf Tournament held recently in New Delhi, where between 20 to 30 ambassadors, high-commissioners, a few top notch industrialists such as Nokia Chairman, Jewellers, Microsoft India, some judges, high level media people participated.
Indian Tourism too was associated with this high profile Golf Tournament. Mr De Silva said that they were also able to promote Sri Lankan Tourism in a very big way, handy with the country’s corporate plan for tourism.
They have discussed these issues with the Minister of Tourism and the Deputy Minister of Tourism and they have encouraged the promotional work carried out by the SriLankan Airlines.
They are planning the Sri Lankan Tourism promotional work in a grand scale at the next years Golf Tournament.
Mr De Silva said that during the tournament he had the occasion to speak to the participants and He has found that many of them did not know much amount Sri Lanka.
