'Al Buraimi' joins Oman Air fleet

A new B737-800NG has joined Oman Air fleet. The aircraft was named after 'Al Buraimi', an Omani renowned Governate bordering the United Arab Emirates.
On this occasion, Mr Ziad bin Karim Al Haremi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air said that this comes in sequence with our plan to prop up and upgrade the company's fleet for short and medium hauls. This also facilitate attaining all advantages of operating the Boeing 737 aircraft in terms of efficiency and cost saving thus ensuring Oman Air presence on the map of the regional aviation industry, in order to maintain the distinguished eminence accomplished by the national carrier of Sultanate of Oman.
Oman Air is currently operating direct international flights from Muscat to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Cairo, Amman, Beirut, in the Middle East. Also, direct flights to destinations in India such as Mumbai, new Delhi, Kochi, Hyderabad, Trivandrum, Chennai, Lucknow, and jaipur as from June1,2007 and further to Chittagong in Bangladesh also, operating domestic flights linking Muscat with Khasab and Salalah.
By the joining of this aircraft, Oman Air fleet consists now of 5 B737-800s and 3 B737-700s. 'Al Buraimi' originating from Seattle, USA landed at Seeb airport on May 9, 2007.
