New Delhi: ATF will now cost Rs 1,273/Kl more for domestic airlines in Delhi, Rs 1,312/Kl in Kolkata and Rs 1,326/Kl in Mumbai, according to industry sources. For international airlines, fuel prices have gone up by $63.53/Kl in Delhi, $65.38/Kl in Kolkata and $63.2/Kl in Mumbai.
Most domestic airlines plan to pass on the hike in ATF rates to fliers. While individual decisions are expected during the week, airline sources said fuel surcharge would be higher by Rs 150 during the peak season. Traffic would not be affected in view of the holiday rush during May and June, airline veterans feel.
“The new prices are applicable from May 1. They are inclusive of sales tax for domestic airlines,” an IOC official said. While ATF prices for domestic airlines attract sales tax, international carriers do not have to pay the tax.
