Bomb scare at Thiruvananthapuram airport

Thiruvananthapuram: Security has been stepped up at the international airport in Thiruvananthapuram following a bomb scare, which turned out to be a hoax.
Security personnel carried out an intense search of two flights that had come from the Gulf based on a message suggesting that a bomb had been planted in one of the incoming flights from the Gulf, airport sources said.
The message was originally received at a police station in Mangalore in Karnataka, which was passed on to the airport security.
A thorough search, including the passenger baggages, was carried out in Air India Express' Doha-Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode flight and Qatar Airways' Doha-Thiruvananthapuram-Doha flight, sources said.
