Customs detains eight air passengers

Kolkata: Customs officials at NSC Bose airport “detained” eight air passengers, all Indian citizens and residents of Punjab this morning.
The passengers who came from Hong Kong to Bangkok and from Bangkok to Kolkata by a Jet Airways flight were carrying at least 2,000 pieces of mobile memory chips, five mobile phones and clothes valued at about Rs 9 lakh.
Interrogation of the Jet Airways passengers are continuing, Customs officials said but declined to give details about the grilling.
