New airports at Bharuch, Ankleshwar

Surat: After Surat, smaller towns of Gujarat have started beeping on the radar of the Union civil aviation ministry.
After receiving Surat’s first Indian flight from Delhi, Union civil aviation minister Praful Patel said the ministry intends to initiate work for airports at Bharuch and Ankleshwar. But before that he wants to spruce up the Surat airport.
While addressing BJP MP from Surat Kashiram Rana, Patel added, “We are expecting a lot of co-operation from your government in Gujarat to acquire more land so that the Surat airport can attain international standards.”
Patel received the Indian flight from Delhi and also flagged it off as it left for the national capital.
