Sources in the State Bank of India, which is Air Deccan's main banker, have told CNBC-TV18, that the bank is all set to give Air Deccan an extension on its Rs 200 crore loan, but a Board approval is needed.
Air Deccan had taken the loan in two tranches of Rs 100 crore each, in January and March. One tranche is maturing on May 31. SBI is most likely to extend the loan, since Deccan has provided SBI its cash flows as collateral.
The extension to Air Deccan will be placed before the bank's Board in a day or two. SBI sources say they have considered an extension, since they expect Air Deccan to find investors soon.
