Trivedi to co-pilot Thulasidas in merged IA, AI

New Delhi: V Thulasidas will be the chairman and managing director of National Aviation Company Ltd (NACL), the entity to arise out of the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines. He is now the CMD of Air India.
Vishwapati Trivedi, CMD, Indian Airlines, will be the joint managing director of the new entity. This was approved by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday, sources said.
According to the sources, while Thulasidas will supervise the merger and the international operations, Trivedi will look after the domestic business.
A section of the government preferred a single post of CMD for NACL. But the department of personnel felt the post could be bifurcated. The government, however, seems to have taken the middle path.
