New Delhi: As a run-up to its direct service to New York from Delhi and Mumbai from August this year, Air India is getting ready to launch an intensive marketing and advertising campaign, both in domestic and international markets.
With a new look and feel and rationalisation of routes and schedules, the airline would also make a hard sales pitch for corporate accounts in the coming months, Air India chairman & managing director V Thulasidas told ET.
Mr Thulasidas said finishing touches are being given to the new advertising campaign which is expected to roll out over the next couple of months.
Sources in advertising circles said the multimedia campaign would involve print, television, internet and outdoor media. Interestingly, this move from Air India comes at a time when rivals, Jet Airways and Kingfisher (minus Air Deccan), have ramped up their advertising budgets for the year and are expected to have earmarked spends of around Rs 170 crore between themselves in 2007.
Mr Thulasidas said the focus would be to communicate the premium value of the product and the experience of flying Air India. Air India has empanelled a group of advertising agencies to work on the campaign.
