Muscat flights suspended

Flights from Bahrain to the Omani capital Muscat will remain suspended until Saturday, the GDN has learnt.Sources said yesterday that the Seeb International Airport had been closed indefinitely due to the after-effects of Hurricane Gonu, which battered Muscat on Tuesday (june 5).
The closure meant several hundred people travelling to, from and through Muscat had to cancel or change their travel plans for the second day running.
However, sources added that operations were expected to resume as normal from Saturday morning.
Oman Air, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, country manager Isa Al Harthy said the airline's flight, which was to depart Bahrain on Tuesday evening, was still on the ground in Bahrain till yesterday.
A Gulf Air spokesman in Bahrain said last night that all its flights going to, transiting and originating from Muscat have been suspended since Tuesday afternoon.
