Dubai-bound passengers stranded on runway

Dubai: Air India blamed bad weather and forced passengers bound for Dubai to sit on the Mumbai airport runway for more than three hours before cancelling the flight, angry passengers said yesterday.
The airline finally told us to go home and come back early morning for the next flight, passengers said, many of whom had to fight with the authorities to stay in the airport.
The passenger were supposed to arrive at Dubai airport at 5pm local time on Wednesday, but they finally arrived at 2.30pm on Thursday.
To add to the passengers woes, their luggage was lost and they finally managed to get their baggage yesterday. There apparently was a mix up and the luggage had gone to the wrong terminal, passengers said.
No Air India staff was available for comment as Friday was a holiday.
