Mumbai: Low-cost carrier, Air Deccan today denied that it had any plans to serve complimentary meal on-board.
Earlier, some television reports said the Bangalore-based airline was contemplating serving complimentary meal on its flights.
Reacting to reports, Air Deccan Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ramki Sundaram said, ''Air Deccan follows a low-cost business model and one of the ways of achieving cost efficiencies is by quick turnaround time of the aircraft, achieved by not serving free meals on board,'' and added that there was no change or deviation from its existing policy.
''We will work with UB Group-owned Kingfisher Airlines to draw up synergies from the commonality of fleet along with sharing of infrastructure and resources. We will explore every aspect of the combined operations to generate higher revenues, reduce our costs and offer enhanced customer service. We will continue to lead the LCC market in India,'' he said.
