Blue Dart to induct 7th freighter in Oct

Mumbai: Blue Dart Aviation, the Chennai-based express air cargo company in which DHL Express holds 81% stake, is all set to induct its seventh freighter — Boeing 757 — in October , 2007.
The aircraft, owned by DHL’s European Air Transport, has been sent for conversion to Precision Conversions. A proposed Cental Sales Tax phase out, investments in infrastructure and technology as well as pick-up in manufacturing outsourcing are driving the demand for logistics solutions in India.
Reason enough that many logistics companies are stepping up their investments in the sub-continent. “The Precision Conversions 757-200PCF, with its weight enhancements, is the right product at the right time to support our expanding global operations, especially in India,” said DHL airline director Gordon Olafson. With the induction of the third Boeing 757, the total tonnage capacity of Blue Dart will touch 300 tonne.
