Flight operations resume at Indore airport after skid-off

Indore: Devi Ahilyabai Holkar airport in Indore was declared fit for operations on Monday with the runway having a full length availability for beginning flight operations.
The airport was closed on Sunday night after Jet airways Delhi-Indore flight skidded-off the runway with 49 passengers and crew onboard.
"Full length (7500 feet) of runway is available for starting flight operations now, as parts of the plane which were scattered on the runway have been removed. The operations will begin soon," Indore Airport director, R K Singh said.
The plane is still stranded at a place where it got stuck after landing due to damage caused to its front wheels, but the airport is functioning normally, Singh said.
The reasons behind the skid-off can be ascertained only after the DGCA probe. The team will submit its findings after deciphering the contents of the black box and other systems in nearly 15-days time, he said.
