Kolkata: Heavy shower accompanied by lightning affected the air traffic to and from Kolkata this on Tuesday evening.
Departure and arrival of Indian flights were delayed by one hour to one-and-a-half hour, airlines sources said.
One of the planes from Chennai had to fly for about 50 minutes over the city before landing at the NSC Bose International Airport on Tuesday night.The plane, however, took off again with passengers for Bangalore.
Despite the heavy raining throughout the day, passengers reporting for departure was 100 per cent for Indian, the sources said.
Sahara's flight from Mumbai, Kingfisher's flight from Bhubaneswar and Jet's flight from Bangalore were also delayed.
