Key accused in human smugling nabbed

Hyderabad: Alleged kingpin in the human smuggling case Mohd Shakeel alias Mohd Shamimuddin alias Amer was arrested by the Task Force police at the Chattrapathi Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai, on Wednesday night. He was brought to Hyderabad by a Jet Airways flight in the wee hours of Thursday.
The Task Force police after keeping him in their custody for nearly 12 hours produced him before First Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Y Prameela Reddy. The magistrate remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.
Police arrested Shakeel as soon as he landed at the Mumbai airport from Malaysia at around 1 am on Thursday. Shakeel reportedly fled to Malaysia on May 1 after the Babubhai Katara case hit the headlines and his name figured in the case.
Several cheating cases are pending against Shakeel in Saifabad and Bodhan police stations.
