MRPL plans direct jet fuel sales

New Delhi: Exports of jet fuel by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd. may fall as it turns its attention to domestic airlines, a senior company official said on Friday.
"We are talking to private airlines like Jet Airways, Kingfisher, and also to Air India, for direct sale of ATF ... we hope to finalise agreement in two to three months," MRPL's Managing Director R. Rajamani told reporters.
He said MRPL, a subsidiary of state-run explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corp., exports an average of 700,000 tonnes of jet fuel a year from its output of a million tonnes.
MRPL plans to start direct jet fuel sales at three airports using infrastructure belonging to state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd.
"We have finalised the deal with HPCL to use its refuelling infrastructure at Bangalore, Calicut and Goa airports," Rajamani said.
