Refuelling facility commences at Vijayawada airport

Vijayawada: The Vijayawada airport at Gannavaram, 18 km from here, has finally got the long-awaited value addition in the form of refuelling facility.
The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), which installed the facility after obtaining the required permissions from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, began operating it from Monday onwards.
Though there was no formal inauguration of the facility, availability of refuelling was made known to flight operators by the airport’s authorities by dropping the reference to non-availability of refuelling facility in the regular NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) reports sent across to the world through the regional office of the AAI in Chennai.
