Airport parking contract stayed

Chandigarh: The division bench of Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Mahesh Grover of Punjab and Haryana High Court has stayed the order of July 7, 2007 of the Chandigarh Administration cancelling the parking area contract for Chandigarh Airport.
The bench has also issued notices for September 5, 2007 to the respondent including the Airport Authority of India for filing their replies.
The petitioner, Vimal Chauhan, had been allotted the contract for the parking area for the period 2004-09. However, the Chandigarh Administration cancelled his contract on July 6, 2007 without giving any notice on the ground that he defaulted in paying licence fee for three months amounting to Rs 58,000.
