Mumbai: National carrier Air India today launched its non-stop Mumbai-New York flight with its newly acquired Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft.
The aircraft was recently acquired from Boeing and the flight was flagged off by Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel.
This is the first of the Boeing LR aircaft to be acquired by Air India.
The air carrier next plans to launch such a flight from Delhi to New York followed by one from Bangalore to San Francisco.
