New Delhi: An Air Arabia flight from Sharjah to Kathmandu in Nepal made an emergency landing at the international airport at Patna, capital of India's eastern Bihar state, on Wednesday after it ran out of fuel, news reports said. Air Arabia flight 537 landed safely after alerting the air traffic control tower in Patna about the fuel shortage, airport official Atul Dikshit was quoted as saying by PTI news agency.
The flight could not make a scheduled landing at Kathmandu airport due to bad weather and was diverted to Patna.
The aircraft with 160 passengers and crew landed safely, but no- one was allowed to disembark due to immigration constraints, the official said.
The aircraft later left for Kathmandu after refuelling.
