Mumbai: From USA to Australia and Europe to India, in global tender advertisements floated on Monday and Saturday, the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd (CIDCO) — which is developing the Greenfield airport at Navi Mumbai — invited tenders for the appointment of a prime consultant for the Rs 10,000-crore airport, to sprawl over 2,000 hectares of land. “Within eight to 10 weeks, we should have a consultant with international expertise on board,” CIDCO’s Vice Chairman and Managing Director, G S Gill had said in a media conference last week.
The consultant would need to be “of international repute” and “experience with global presence” to qualify for what Gill calls CIDCO’s “star” project. The scope of work would be to carry out a comprehensive master plan and prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and would include everything from “planning to selection of strategic partner through public bidding process.”
The consultant will also prepare documents to establish the project's technical and financial viability and documents to facilitate investments and lending for the project.
