New Delhi: Acknowledging that there has been marked drop in accident rates in the Indian Air Force, Defence Minister A K Antony on Wednesday told Air warriors to put in extra care that crash ratio was reduced further.
"There has been strenuous efforts put in by the IAF to reduce air accidents, but more can be done to drop it further," Antony said in his valedictory address to the International Flight Safety Conference attend by air experts from 30 countries.
On increasing demands for flexi use of air space, Antony said in future IAF would have to share airspace management as well as ground facilities to meet increasing demands from commercial travellers.
"What is needed is to strike a coordination and inter-operatability between civil and military aviation," he told the conference.
Admitting that there were "problems" between civil and military aviation, the Minister said "wherever there are problems we can sit together to sort these out". Fifty-nine delegates from various nations participated in the two-day conference.
