Epic Expects Quick Benefits From Mallya Investment

Epic Aircraft expects to "immediately benefit" from the relationships that Indian billionaire Dr. Vijay Mallya - who recently purchased "a significant interest" in the Oregon-based general aviation manufacturer - has with other aviation companies such as Airbus and Pratt & Whitney. Press reports suggest Mallya, who owns and operates India's Kingfisher Airlines, may have injected several hundred million dollars in Epic Aircraft.
However, the privately held U.S. aircraft maker has not released any numbers regarding the investment, which Epic says will provide it with "the ability to accelerate the process of bringing the company's growing line of aircraft to the certified market." Epic President and CEO Rick Schrameck said, "Vijay has already brought Airbus into the role of consultants for our certification programs."
