The Airports Authority of India (AAI) today paid a sum of Rs. 112.00 crore as dividend to the Government. This is its full and final dividend for the financial year 2006-07. Earlier AAI had paid an interim dividend of Rs. 60.00 crore to the Government of India in January 2007. With this, the total dividend payout for the year 2006-07 stands to Rs. 172.00 crore. This is the highest ever dividend paid by AAI to Government of India.
The dividend cheque was handed over by Dr. K. Ramalingam, Chairman AAI, to Shri Praful Patel, Minister for Civil Aviation, today. Shri Ashok Chawla, Secretary, Civil Aviation, Board Members of AAI and other senior officials of Ministry of Civil Aviation were also present on the occasion.
During the year 2006-07, Airports Authority of India earned highest ever revenue of Rs. 3726.00 crore and earned profit after tax of Rs. 860.00 crore. During the year 2006-07, AAI incurred highest ever capital expenditure of Rs. 1040.00 crore to modernize the airports and passenger facilities all over the country.
