Srinagar: The air traffic between Kashmir and other parts of the country was disrupted on Thursday due to poor visibility caused by heavy fog with all flights from Srinagar international airport, including two special Hajj flights, cancelled.
A dense blanket of fog covered the skies of the valley for the entire day, forcing cancellation of all outbound flights from here, the official sources said.
All incoming flights to Srinagar from Delhi, Jammu and Mumbai were also cancelled, the sources said.
Two special Indian flights, which were scheduled to carry Hajj pilgrims from here to Saudi city of Jeddah, were cancelled. The pilgrims will now leave on a later date, provided the weather conditions improve.
The air traffic to and fro Srinagar airport remained suspended for almost a week in the last week of November due to poor visibility caused by fog.
