Mumbai: After having arrested a Bandra-based former Jet Airways airhostess and four others in connection with an illegal immigration racket to the US, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch is looking for a “flight purser” with “close connections” to the former airhostess, said an officer who is part of the investigating team.
“Our teams have been looking for a Mumbai-based flight purser, and once he is located we will arrest him in the case,” a top Crime Branch officer told Newsline. A flight purser or steward is the male equivalent of an airhostess and has a similar job profile.
“He is about 32 years and has close connections with arrested accused Aliah Rizvi. The flight purser works for a different airline. Further investigations are on in the case,” said the officer.
But when contacted, Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) Rakesh Maria neither confirmed nor denied that the police were looking for the flight purser.
