Manama: Jet Airways, India's largest private airline, is to begin its Bahrain operations on January 5, the GDN learnt last night.
Sources said the airline will have 14 flights a week initially - seven each to Bombay and Kochi.
"A flight from Mumbai will arrive on January 5 at 7.15am and depart for Kochi at 8.45am," said the sources.
"Later that evening, a flight from Kochi will arrive in Bahrain at 8pm and leave for Bombay at 9.30pm."
The sources also said the fares would be around 10 per cent less than Gulf Air's.
All the flights would be non-stop and will be operated on state-of-the art Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
