Kingfisher in profits, eyes other airlines

Tirupati: Kingfisher Airlines, a subsidiary of UB Group, has entered the phase of earning profits, UB Group chairman Vijay Mallya has claimed.
Speaking to the media at Tirumala after having the darshan of Lord Venkateswara, he said the company’s 24th aircraft, A-321, will start its commercial flight today. its crew also came along with Mallya to seek the blessings of the God. Mallya hinted at plans to take over other private airlines but refused to divulge more.
Expressing satisfaction at offering premium first class service on domestic routes, he said that after his group’s significant investments in Air Deccan, the Kingfisher-Air Deccan group has emerged as India’s largest domestic airline connecting 69 cities with 570 daily flights with a fleet of 76 aircraft.
