Raipur airport to be upgraded as international airport: Pranab

Raipur: Raipur airport will be upgraded as an international airport, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said while accepting the demand of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister.
"I support the demand of the Chief Minister Raman Singh, which is justified and sooner or later the Raipur airport will become an international airport," Mukherjee told at a function here on yesterday evening.
Mukherjee was addressing a function here after opening the 34th passport office of the country and the first in Chhattisgarh, after seven years of its creation from Madhya Pradesh.
In his address, the Chief Minister demanded upgradation of Raipur airport as an international airport saying it complies all the necessary requirements and thanked the Union Minister for opening the passport office here.
