Kingfisher will be used for long flights: Mallya

New Delhi: Ending months of speculation over his plans to fly abroad, UB Group chief Vijay Mallya on Monday said that the brand Kingfisher will be sent for long haul flights while Air Deccan (in which he now has a majority stake) will go to nearby places like Middle East and Southeast Asia.
The aviation ministry had earlier clarified that Kingfisher can fly abroad on Deccan licence next year when the latter completes five years of operation if Mallya gets a majority stake.
At the India Economic Summit here, Mallya said the future course of integrating Deccan and Kingfisher would be decided soon. ‘‘Accenture will submit their report on integration by December 19. Then we will meet to discuss corporate planning,’’ he said.
