Livewel to set up MRO unit in Dubai

Mumbai: Mumbai-based Livewel Aviation Services has signed a pact with Jebel Ali Airport to set up a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility at the Dubai World Central Aviation City.
Livewel will invest Rs 320 crore in the facility.
Burzin Daver, CEO, Livewel group, told DNA Money: “The facility will be able to hold two Boeing 777s or one Airbus A380 simultaneously. We will be putting in equity from our end and also will have banks supporting us.”
The agreement with the Dubai authorities has been signed for 30 years.
The Livewel facility will primarily focus on cabin interior refurbishment, aircraft painting, c-check and line maintenance and will be operational by 2009. The 24,000 sq m plot will have facilities to accommodate both wide and narrow-bodied aircraft. The company expects the venture to break even four years after the facility becomes operational. It is expected to employ around 500 aviation professionals during the first year of operations.
Livewel has also signed up with Jebel Ali Airport to establish an aviation training college.
