Mallya set to snag Jet CEO Prock-Schauer

Mumbi: Vijay Mallya seems to have delivered the sucker punch. In his no-holds barred tussle with Naresh Goyal, Mr Mallya looks all set to snag Jet Airways chief executive Wolfgang Prock-Schauer as the new CEO of Kingfisher Airlines.
Denying any such move, Jet executive director Saroj Dutta said: “This is first time I am hearing of this.” Mr Prock-Schauer declined to comment, but executives close to the development said that he is tipped to shift base later this month. In a related development, Charles Soon, head of airport services at Jet Airways put in his papers on Monday. Mr Soon, too will be joining Kingfisher Airlines.
A steady stream of key airline executives from Jet have crossed over to the Mallya camp in the past one year. Among the high-profile officials who quit Jet are Rajesh Verma, vice-president customer and inflight services, Murali Ramachandran, senior general manager, airport services, V Raja, vice-president, Asia-Pacific and Nandini Verma, vice-president (corporate affairs).
Mr Prock-Schauer, an Austrian national, has been at the helm of Jet since June 2003 and holds a five-year contract with the airline that expires next year.
