Mangalore: Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) has decided to include Bajpe International Airport in the SEZ corridor. The proposal of the same will be put forward in the next SEZ board meeting which will be held in New Delhi, said the sources.
Sources further said that Prasad, managing director, MSEZ and Kumble Narasimha Prabhu were impressed when they were explained about the benefits of having duty-free shops at the Airport.
The duty-free shops offer value-added services to passengers and are exempted from taxes. Such shops have an advantage of getting indirect financial support. It is source of profit for the airport as well as the airlines, the sources informed.
