Mumbai: A Protest rally will be held Saturday against the “forceful acquisition” of the 400-year-old Sahar Church for the expansion of the Sahar Church.
“We expect around 10,000 people to join us,” said Dolphy D’Souza of the Bombay Catholic Sabha which is spearheading this entire agitation.
The rally will take place at the Jain Temple ground near the Church at Seven in the evening on Saturday.
“We have organized this protest rally to highlight the grievances of the residents of Slum Dwellers surrounding Mumbai Airport as well as the forceful acquisition of the Sahar Church, ancient Graveyard and school belonging to Christian community and Lands belonging to private owners by Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd ( MIAL ) for non aeronautical purposes.
