SpiceJet increases its fleet size to 18

Srinagar: SpiceJet has inducted its second Boeing 737-900ER aircraft, the latest offering of passenger aircrafts from Boeing, increasing its fleet size to 18. This is the second extended range of the 900 series that SpiceJet has inducted in its fleet in the last one month.
This addition is in line with SpiceJet's plan to induct 4 such Boeing's to its fleet by September 2008. The latest aircraft will fly on the Delhi-Mumbai, Mumbai-Ahmedabad- Delhi, Mumbai- Bangalore and Bangalore - Delhi route apart from the carrier's existing Delhi-Goa-Mumbai route, which are high density and long distance routes.
Belonging to the next generation of Boeing 737 family, the Boeing 737-900ER has an enhanced seating capacity though all its operations are same as Boeing 737-800, currently being operated by SpiceJet.
