Srinagar: With a welcome change from the dry, foggy weather conditions of the past week, one more batch of Hajj pilgrims left for Jeddah today. Only one Hajj flight could be operated as the other plane developed a technical snag. A special flight carrying 216 pilgrims took off from Srinagar at around four in the afternoon. The executive officer of the state Hajj committee, Abdul Rasheed Mir, and several officials of the civil administration were present on the occasion to see the pilgrims off.
The aircraft coming to Srinagar for the second batch of pilgrims could not land at the airport due to some technical reason, leading to the postponement of the second flight.
The held-up pilgrims have now been booked for a flight on December 2.
